No, the sky’s not falling…yet. But those conspiracy theorists who “swear” that “we’re being watched” are dead on. We are. Everyone should be familiar with the internet tracking and tracing the goes on via the web today.
There are ways for people to get into our computers, and therefore our homes and our lives, with a few simple clicks of a mouse. Keylogger programs and various tracing viruses make their way into unsuspecting people’s homes every minute. Internet tracing is not ALL malicious. Those of us who are internet marketers use it to to monitor our website’s traffic and try to find out a little bit about our customer’s demographics.
That being said, if you’d like to stop being watched, tracked, targeted, blocked, stalked and banned – there is something you can do. The use of anonymous proxies will allow you to, you guessed it, stay anonymous while you surf the web. There are many different ways to do this, such as free web-based browser proxies that are fine for occasional use. If you’d really like some privacy though, you’ll need to get a service with some anonymous proxies that will give you real protection and they’re not expensive at all.
There are some that are web-based that you can log into, others that have you install a small desktop app that will change your IP for you with the click of a button and still others that are much more sophisticated and can create a virtual private network for you, called a VPN. It really depends on what you intend to be doing and your purposes for using anonymous proxies. Once you figure that out, you’ll be able to determine the right kind of proxy for your situation and then move on to find the best provider for that proxy service.
