A Proxy Server is a server that acts as an intermediary (go-between) for requests from clients (you) seeking resources from other servers (maybe Google, WordPress, Forums, Facebook, etc). Proxies are used for a variety of purposes, including: anonymity, speeding up resources (caching), to bypass blocks or “parental controls”, to scan for viruses or malware before delivery, to circumvent some other restrictions.
There are many different types, levels and obviously qualities of proxies out there and this site intends to delve into and explain most if not all of them. What is striking is that there are really no “Aggregate” sites to get an overall picture of proxies, which ones to use for what and where to find the best deals. Also – who to avoid. With the advent to Xrumer, Scrapebox and the countless IM products that utilize proxies, this is surprising to say the least.
But wait, you’ve come to the “About” page to learn ‘about’ me…. just who’s website/blog is this, anyway? My name is Tricia Abney and I am just another average IM consumer who became frustrated with some of the misinformation out there and the online scams. So, I decided to take matters into my own hands and set up a site with some good non-biased reviews to cut through the garbage. I am confident that the information on this site will help you to do the same.
